Ready for winter
Okay, NOW I feel I'm ready for winter. I noticed that the grills at our
apartment complex weren't getting any use (No coal ash in the grill
baskets), so I figured I'd break at least one of them in. Obviously, I
didn't use the grill as it was intended to be used, but at least I
dumped the ashes off in the basket, so people can tell that the grill
was used in some way or another.
Got a bunch of steaks, ribs and potatoes cooked up. Also found a good
way to amuse myself while waiting for everything to cook, I used the
time to clip the ends off of a bunch of snow peas and to chop up an
onion and most of a garlic bulb (Really helps to chop up onions
outdoors as the breeze takes away the stuff that makes one cry). I'll
cook all that up for a potluck at our church this Sunday.
I told a woman at work what I was going to do this afternoon. She asked
"Oh, are you going to feed the elderly?" I was like, uh, er, well, no,
all of this was for my own freezer, to be consumed through the times
when I don't feel like/can't afford to shop. I'm a nice guy, but I'm
not a mensch (Hebrew for real man, family man. community helper).
