The initial introduction starts at the 7:15 minute mark. First discussion was over how to find the chat room. Our featured speaker, Steve Cobble, introduced at the 14:40 mark. The anti-war movement has a lot to be proud of, we achieved a lot. Then, the movement just seems to have given up when Obama took office. Now, with the election approaching, the movement appears to have some leverage.

Virginia asked about next recommended steps, Steve's answer was to call Representatives out. There followed lots of discussions from many members.

Sally brought up Barbara Lee's bill to withdraw from Afghanistan. Steve thought the slow-but-sure way was best for getting support for Lee's bill.

Mike Fox came on and gave a highly informative speech about financing our activities. A little at a time does it. Small payments stretched out over months is the most sustainable way to support the movement.

Discussion moved to Barbara Lee's bill and several other bills.

We were told about how Leah Bolger interrupted a Congressional hearing. Justifiably, we think, but Congressmembers weren't pleased.

We discussed how many members of the Progressive Caucus signed onto Barbara Lee's bill and possible co-optation of the peace movement by MoveOn.

Special note: In our last chat room, the software maintained the complete log of all of the chatting. In this new system, it only logs about 20 to 30 entries and then they disappear. So the only way to get a complete log of all of the chat room entries is to regularly copy & paste as you go.
